Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions contain legal obligations and we encourage you to read through them carefully. Unless otherwise started, any purchases made through tuscanylocaltours.com, our distributors, and our affiliates are subject to these terms and conditions.

1. Our contract

All bookings are made with Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza (us/we). By making a booking, the traveller (you) is deemed to have agreed to these terms and conditions on behalf of all individuals included in the booking. The services to be provided are those in your booking confirmation invoice. No alterations or variations to these terms and conditions are in effect unless made in writing by and under the authority of Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza.

2. Pricing and payments

2.1 Pricing
a) Prices and exchange rates — Prices are correct at the time of quoting, converted at the prevailing foreign exchange rate as set by Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza. The rate will float on a daily basis in line with international currency movements.
b) Price changes — The prices appearing on the website are the current rates and can change without notice. Once a traveller has booked a tour, the traveller will not be required to pay any difference in the event of a price increase. Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza will not refund the balance of any price reduction.
c) Child rate — Our child rates apply at the time of the tour, not the time of booking. Proof of age must be available for inspection on the day of travel. If a traveller is identified as not qualifying for a child price (if a child price is available for the tour), the traveller will be required to provide the balance of difference between the adult rate and child rate for the tour before being permitted to start the trip.
d) Per person — All prices listed are on a per traveller basis unless otherwise stated.
e) Inclusions — Prices include all inclusions as indicated on the tour description on tuscanylocaltours.com.
f) Exclusions — Prices do not include:

  • 1. Tips and gratuities — If you are happy with the services provided by your local guides and drivers, a tip — though not compulsory — is appropriate. While it may not be customary to you, it is of great significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels, inspires excellent service, and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry in Italy. Please consider this when budgeting for your extra expenses on your tour.
  • 2. Items of a personal nature — These may include snacks, meals, and drinks not outlined as an inclusion in the inclusions section of the tour description.
  • 3. Baggage and personal insurance — It is highly recommended that each traveller obtain adequate insurance for their travels, including for the tour they have booked with Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza.
  • 4. Local taxes and fees — Unless otherwise stated, the price does not include any local taxes or fees, including foreign departure, security, port charges, park fees, customs, immigration, agricultural, passenger-facility charges, or international transportation tax.

g) Discounts — Discount campaigns may be promoted from time to time and terms will be set out for each campaign.

2.2 Payment
a) Credit cards — Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza accepts the following credit cards for payment:
1. Visa
2. Mastercard
3. American Express
b) Credit card service fee — Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza may charge travellers a service fee on credit card payments (max 3%). Some banks have been known to charge their customers a small fee for what they see as an international transaction. Please check with your bank prior to purchase if this will affect your payment.
c) Payment due — With the exception of Private/Custom Tours, full payment is required at the time of booking. Payment for private tours is due upon confirmation of tour itinerary.

3. Cancellations/no-shows and amendments to bookings

3.1 Cancellations by the traveller
a) Cancellation fees – Cancellation fees may apply to any cancellations by the traveller of a service provided by Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza. Unless otherwise specified, the cancellation policy is as follows:

  • 1. Cancellations for set tours (daily sold in our website) made more than 48 hours prior to travel, receive a full refund. See Coronavirus Customer Information.
  • 2. Cancellations for set tours (daily sold in our website) made 48 hours or less prior to travel require the traveller to pay for the tour in full, and no refund will be issued. See Coronavirus Customer Information.
  • 3. Cancellations for custom itineraries are as follows:
    • 60+ days to departure – Full refund
    • 59 – 31 days to departure – 50% cancellation fee
    • 30 days and under to departure – 100% cancellation fee

b) Unused portions of tours – No refund is provided for any unused portion of a tour, including the entire tour in the event a traveller does not arrive at the designated start point of the tour.

3.2 Cancellations by Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza
We may cancel a tour at any time prior to departure if, due to terrorism, natural disasters, political instability, or other external events it is not viable for us to operate the planned itinerary. If we cancel your tour, you can transfer amounts paid to an alternate departure date or, alternatively, receive a full refund. In circumstances where the cancellation is due to external events outside our reasonable control, refunds will be less any unrecoverable costs. We are not responsible for any incidental expenses you may have incurred as a result of your booking, including but not limited to visas, vaccinations, travel insurance, or non-refundable flights.

3.3 Amendments to bookings by the traveller
a) If a traveller wishes to amend an existing booking, the original booking must be cancelled and a new booking made. Prices applying to the new booking will be the price at the time the new booking is made. Cancellation charges may apply (refer to 3.1 Cancellations by the traveller).
b) If a traveller wishes to make an itinerary amendment or date change to a custom itinerary, they must notify us at least 14 days prior to the proposed departure date. We could incur some costs if we will have been charged by our suppliers. No amendments are permitted to custom bookings within 14 days of departure.

3.4 Amendments to itineraries by Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza
While we endeavour to operate all tours as described, we reserve the right to change the tour itinerary. The itinerary provided for each tour is representative of the activities planned; however, the route, amenities, stops, and modes of transport may be subject to change without prior notice due to local circumstances or events. If we make a major change before departure, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible. We reserve the right to change an itinerary after departure due to local circumstances or events outside of our control.

4. Confirmation and vouchers

a) Confirmation — Upon receipt of full payment, Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza will issue a voucher via email for the booked tour.

b) Voucher — The lead traveller must present the original voucher issued by Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza at the start of the tour. Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza reserves the right to refuse service to any travellers not able to provide their voucher to their tour guide at the beginning of the tour.

5. Your tour

5.1 Traveller confirmation
We recommend the lead traveller contact the emergency number 24 hours prior to the start of their tour to confirm the tour departure. The emergency number is available on the voucher provided.

5.2 Timeliness
Travellers must adhere to the start time set out in the product information on their voucher. We start on time, so please allow enough time (at least 10 minute before) to be at the start point before your official start time on your voucher. If you know you are going to be late, please contact us on the phone number on your voucher and we’ll do our best to help you catch up. If a traveller hasn’t arrived on time and without any contact, Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza will consider the traveller to be a “no show” and the tour will start without them and no refund will be provided. The following start point(s) are outlined in the tour information and on the confirmation voucher:

  • 1. Meeting point — If a meeting point is set for the tour, one time will be set as the start time (for example, 8.30am). The traveller should be waiting at the designated start point at the designated start time. It is recommended that you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the tour.
  • 2. Pick-up — If a pick-up is included in the tour, the times the service will be provided are listed in the product information and on the voucher (for example, 8.30 to 9.00am). The traveller should wait in the lobby of their pick-up point during the designated pick-up times.

5.3 Your responsibility
The traveller making the booking is responsible for their own and their party’s actions. If Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza or their local guide deem you or your party’s actions to cause danger to other travellers or our staff, to intervene with other clients’ enjoyment of the trip, or to be offensive to the local communities and cultures, Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza and their tour guides reserve the right to remove you from the tour effectively immediately. You must at all times comply with the laws, customs, foreign exchange, and drug regulations of all countries visited, and you also agree to travel in accordance with our responsible travel guidelines.

5.4 Acceptance of risk
You acknowledge that the nature of the trip may be adventurous and participation involves a degree of personal risk.
You acknowledge that you are choosing to travel at a time where you may be exposed to the COVID-19 virus. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure your safety and may require you to follow additional safety protocols on your trip.
We use information from our government in assessing whether the tour can go ahead. However, it is also your own responsibility to acquaint yourself with all relevant travel information, including applicable health risks and the nature of your itinerary. You acknowledge that your decision to travel is made in light of consideration of this information and you accept that you are aware of the personal risks attendant upon such travel. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability in relation to these additional risks.

6. Information accuracy

The lead traveller is responsible for providing accurate information during the booking process. Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza reserves the right to cancel any bookings if inaccurate information is provided, including (but not exclusive to):

  • 1. Traveller name(s)
  • 2. Email address
  • 3. Mobile number
  • 4. Hotel (pick-up) details

7. Age and health requirements

a) Age requirements — All travellers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian, or in lieu of a legal guardian, by an escort over the age of 18, appointed by their legal guardian. The legal guardian or their designee will be responsible for the traveller under the age of 18. While many of our tours permit all ages, the minimum age requirements may vary with tours. Please see the tour description on tuscanylocaltours.com to check whether a tour is child-friendly. For tours featuring alcohol, travellers may be required to show proof of age of majority.

b) Health requirements — Some of our trips can be physically demanding and travellers must ensure that they are suitably fit to allow participation. We are able to provide details on mandatory health requirements; however, we are not medical experts. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are physically fit to participate. All our tours specify a physical rating, which is to be used as a guideline for gauging whether a tour is appropriate for your fitness level. In addition if you book a bike tour make sure you are be able to ride a bicycle.

8. Travel insurance

It is a requirement that all travellers doing our tours have valid and comprehensive travel insurance. Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza can not be held responsible for any liability, expenses, or losses you incur as a result of being inadequately insured. We strongly recommend that at the time of booking a comprehensive travel insurance policy is purchased.

9. Passports and visas

Unless travelling domestically, travellers must carry a valid passport and have obtained the appropriate visas when travelling. Please ensure your passport is valid for 6 months beyond the duration of the trip. It is the traveller’s responsibility to ensure that you are in possession of the correct visas for your holiday. Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza cannot accept responsibility if you are refused entry to a country because you lack the correct visa documentation which prevent you from attending to our tour.

10. Complaints

Should you have a complaint about your tour, we urge you to discuss this at the time with the local guide. In the event you wish to complain further, please contact Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza in writing within 30 days from the date of the tour. Complaints received outside this timeframe will not be considered.

11. Photos and marketing

You consent to us using images of you taken during the tour for advertising and promotional purposes in any medium we choose. You grant us a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable licence to use such images for publicity and promotional purposes.

12. Terms of use

a) By using Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza tours (tucanylocaltours.com), our distributors, and/or affiliates, the traveller agrees to be bound by the conditions outlined in these terms and conditions.

b) By engaging with Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza, the traveller agrees to do so for lawful purposes only.

c) When engaging with Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza the traveller agrees to do so for personal purposes and not for their own personal commercial gain and will not enter into or provide fraudulent requests or information to Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza.

13. Privacy policy

Any personal information that we collect about you may be used for any purpose associated with the operation of your tour or to send you marketing material in relation to our events and special offers. The information may be disclosed to our agents, service providers, or other suppliers to enable us to operate your tour. We will otherwise treat your details in accordance with our privacy policy (available for viewing at tuscanylocaltours.com).

14. Disclaimers

a) Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza, affiliates, and distributors shall not be liable for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity, liability, or expense to person or property.

b) Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza affiliates, and distributors accept no responsibility for any sickness, acts of crime, labour disputes, government actions, acts of war and/or terrorism, weather conditions, defect in any vehicle of transportation, or for any misadventure or casualty or any other causes beyond their control.

c) Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza maintains information that is accurate to the best of our knowledge; however, does not warrant that content and information provided on tuscanylocaltours.com or via any of our affiliate sites or via distributors will be without error and that functionality of the websites uninterrupted or without error.

d) Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza will not accept responsibility or liability for any traveller who contravenes any law or regulation of any country visited.

e) This agreement is governed by the laws of Italy Decreto Legislativo n. 62/2018 (Novella Codice del Turismo)

16. Updating of terms and conditions

Tuscany like a Local S.n.c. di Chiara Degano e Luca Russo Facciazza reserves the right to update and/or alter these terms and conditions at any time.

Our Safe Space Policy

Everyone has the right to feel welcome, included, and safe on our tours. We invite everyone participating in a tour, from the guide to our guests, to be active in creating an inviting and safe environment. Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.

We define intolerable behaviour as anything that belittles, marginalizes, rejects, threatens or harms anyone on the basis of ability, age, cultural background, education, ethnicity, gender, language, nationality, physical appearance, race, religion, self-expression, sexual orientation, marital status, parenthood, etc.

We ask that anyone joining our tours be aware of their language and behaviour, and to contemplate how it might affect others. By joining one of our tours, you agree to abide by the following guidelines:

  • Respect peoples’ opinions, beliefs, experiences and differing points of view.
  • Respect everyone’s identity. Do not assume anyone’s background, health, ability, sexual preference, etc.
  • Be responsible for your own actions; be aware that your actions have an effect on others, despite your intentions.
  • Listen and change your behaviour if someone tells you that you are making them uncomfortable.

Our guides are empowered to enforce these rules. If you fail to abide by the guidelines mentioned above, we reserve the right to ask you to leave without a refund.

Coronavirus Customer Information

If you are planning to travel with us in the coming weeks, you’ll likely have some questions about the impact COVID-19 may have on our operations.

We operate tours only when the Italian government deem to allow group activities to resume. If you can book a tour, that means that we are allowed to run tours on that date. In the meantime, if something changes we will contact you as soon as possible to re-book or cancel your tour.

When group tours are allowed again, please be reassured that we have established our own Covid-safe guidelines in line with the World Travel and Tourism Council’s ‘Safe Travels’ framework, as well as encouraging our vendors to do the same.

We recommend you check with both your own government and the Italian government for the latest travel advice and quarantine requirements.

Your health and safety
We are committed to ensuring your health and safety and have set out strict requirements for all our guides and the businesses we work with on our tours.

We are required to follow all local government regulations for operating, as well as our own guidelines for health and safety. These guidelines include:

  • limiting our group sizes to reflect local government recommendations for gatherings max 12 people or even less when possible to have more guides (we try to adapt our tours according to different situations)
  • maintaining a 1.5-metre distance between all tour participants whenever practical, including the guide;
  • ensuring all vendors we visit (restaurants, bars, cafes, etc.) are appropriately sanitized and have implemented protocols for physical distancing;
  • ensure single portion and nothing to share during our food tours;
  • ensuring any private transport is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between tours, and follows locally advised capacity limits;
  • re-training all guides in health and safety and incident management; and
    requiring any guide showing symptoms to be removed from the tour schedule for a minimum of 14 days.

In addition to these mandatory requirements, we also have recommended guidelines for both our guides and you, to ensure everyone’s safety:

Masks and face coverings
For the safety of you and other guests, we require you to bring a mask with you to the tour. Your guide will inform you of the latest government recommendations, and whether a mask is required. Note that some vendors we visit may have their own mask requirements, even if not government-mandated. If this is the case and you do not have a mask with you, we cannot guarantee you will be allowed inside these businesses.

Contact Tracing
Our guides may ask to collect your contact information at the start of the tour, for contact tracing purposes only — for example, if we are informed of possible exposure and need to notify you. This data will not be used for any other purposes.

Tour Itineraries
Our itineraries and routes may be modified to avoid crowds and public transport. We may need to re-route your itinerary at the last minute if there is unexpected crowding at one of the stops.

Customer Symptoms and Safe Behaviour
If you are showing flu-like symptoms, please be considerate of others and do not join the tour. You may cancel up to 24 hours before the tour start time (in any case contact us to find the best solution) if you are not feeling well, and receive a full refund.

If you are showing symptoms on the tour, or if you refuse to follow our health guidelines, your guide will ask you to leave the tour for their safety and the safety of others.

Cancellations and booking conditions (only valid during Coronavirus emergency)
During Coronavirus emergency our cancellation policy is the following: All our group or private tours have free cancellation up to 24 hours prior to the departure of your tour, so you are financially protected if you are suddenly unwell. You also have the option to reschedule or take a travel credit for the full value.

For custom tours, you may cancel up to 48 hours prior to your tour departure for a full refund minus unrecoverable costs. For cancellations within 48 hours of departure, you will receive a travel credit minus unrecoverable costs.

If you booked through a travel agent or travel advisor, please contact them directly to discuss your options based on their current policy.

Please note that sometimes refunds may take up to 5 business days to be processed. Thank you for your patience as we work to ensure all our customers are taken care of.

If you wish to make any changes to your booking, please contact info@tuscanylocaltours.com and we will be more than happy to assist.

If we must cancel a tour due to government-issued COVID-19 restrictions, we will notify you immediately and offer 2 options for your booking:

  • Transfer the full amount paid to a gift voucher you may use for any future bookings or have a gift to somebody with no expiry date
  • Receive a full refund less any unrecoverable costs.

Note that the above conditions apply only to your tour with us, and do not include visas, vaccinations, travel insurance or flights.
